Which was the first time I saw the Phase. I was DJing a bit 10 - 12 years ago, but life got in the way and I moved on to other things, but I always had my gear set up in case the itch came back...
Sure enough, I can feel it slowly gathering steam. My current (dated) setup is:
2 x Stanton ST.150 MKII
1 x Pioneer DJM909
1 x Macbook Pro
Serato Scratch Live
I was drawn to DJing because of breakin, and I wanted to make my own breaking mixes, focusing on beat juggling and scratching. I stopped for a few reasons, but one of them was I always had an issue with needle skipping; no matter how often I practised to keep my hands light, I could never get into the more technical scratches, as I'd find I'd be too heavy handed...
Fast forward to last year when I saw that video and now I'm sitting here still feeling like I need to come back to this. Based on the info above, what would people suggest?
I'm not looking to try and get into doing gigs, this is just for me; maybe I will eventually record those mix ideas I had, but for now, I'm just looking to recaputre that feeling of juggling a beat and making something new. Should I get phase? What about my other gear, are there any suggestions on what I need to update? Any questions to assist with answering this, please let me know!
